Financial Literacy
Our financial literacy program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions from an early age. The curriculum begins with the fundamentals of money management, helping learners understand income, expenses, budgeting, and the importance of setting financial goals. Students are introduced to banking and financial systems, including the role of banks, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions, as well as practical steps for opening and managing a bank account. The program further explores loans and credit, covering different types of borrowing, the risks of debt, and strategies for responsible repayment. Emphasis is also placed on saving and investment, highlighting the value of savings for emergencies and future aspirations, along with simple investment options such as savings groups and fixed deposits. To ensure financial safety, students learn to recognize fraud and scams, practice secure transactions, and maintain accurate financial records. Together, these components foster confidence, responsibility, and long-term financial well-being.
Media Literacy
The media literacy program empowers students to critically understand, evaluate, and create media in today’s information-driven world. Learners are introduced to the different types of media—traditional outlets such as radio and print, alongside digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and online news sites—while examining their role in shaping perceptions and influencing society. The program emphasizes evaluating information, enabling students to identify credible sources and recognize misinformation, fake news, and propaganda. Responsible media consumption is another core focus, addressing the ethical use of digital platforms, healthy management of screen time, and strategies to prevent cyberbullying. Finally, students are guided in creating media, from photography and video production to storytelling and presenting ideas effectively. Together, these skills equip learners to navigate the media landscape thoughtfully, responsibly, and creatively.
Political Literacy
The political literacy program introduces students to the foundations of governance, democracy, and civic responsibility in Nepal. It begins with an overview of the federal, provincial, and local government structures, clarifying the powers, roles, and responsibilities of elected officials. Students also explore Nepal’s major political parties—their origins, ideologies, and influence on national development. Through interactive activities such as mock student government elections, learners gain firsthand experience of the electoral process, the significance of voting, and the role of independent candidates, while also developing the ability to recognize election-related misinformation and critically assess political promises. Beyond understanding systems and processes, the program emphasizes civic engagement, encouraging students to take an active role in shaping policies, advocating for community needs, and holding leaders accountable. This integrated approach fosters informed, responsible, and engaged citizens.
Leadership Course
The Leadership Course is designed to cultivate the skills and qualities necessary for effective leadership in diverse contexts. Students begin by exploring the foundations of leadership, including key traits, various leadership styles, and their practical applications. Emphasis is placed on teamwork and collaboration, teaching students how to build, guide, and communicate effectively within a team while resolving conflicts constructively. The course also covers time and resource management, equipping learners with strategies for prioritization, goal-setting, and efficient management of both financial and human resources. Decision-making and problem-solving are central components, encouraging students to identify challenges, evaluate risks, and develop adaptable solutions. Finally, the program fosters leading for change by guiding students in designing and implementing community-focused projects, motivating others, and creating a shared vision that drives positive impact.
